During the Summer of 2007, Medicine Horse offered several different Recreation and Leisure Classes. Below are descriptions for each class.
Pricing will be $40 for each class for a total of $200 for a 5-week program.
*For the safety of our horses, there is a client weight restriction of 180 lbs.*
LEARNING WITH HORSES
(Ages 8-12 years)
Join us at Riversong Ranch for fun and games with our horses. Gain confidence and become comfortable with horses while learning basic skills such as grooming, leading and riding.
The first 4 sessions will focus on working with the horses on the ground. We will learn about horse behavior while playing group games such as relay races and obstacle courses. The second half of the program will focus on developing trust and balance while riding. The very last session will consist of a special trail ride in the mountains. Snacks and drinks will be provided at the end of each session as we talk about our experiences with the horses that day.
This program is designed for kids with little to no experience with horses and will be led by a riding instructor and a certified Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) Instructor.

Classes for both programs will be held on Tuesdays from 9am - 11am.
Program #1 will be held 6/05/06 - 7/10/06.
Program #2 will be held 7/17/06 - 8/14/06.
